Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1120503A1] A compact arrangement is mounted in a wood working company, especially a planing mill. Supplied wood chips are sprayed with a flameproofing mineral salt solution in said arrangement and in a conveying device (1). The chips are subsequently dried in a dryer (7) and dedusted in a cyclone separator (9). The outgoing air of the cyclone separator (9) is freed from wood dust in a dust filter (12). The dust is filled into a transport container and is transported to a point of use, a synthetic material factory for instance where said dust is used as a filler. The chips leaving the cyclone separator (9) are separated into a coarse chip fraction and a fine chip fraction in a classifying device (14). The two fractions are then transported to a point of use respectively in a transport container (17, 20) respectively. The chips acting as insulation material are introduced into cavities at said point of use. Said method enables the use of wood chips in a rational and cost-effective manner.
