[origin: DE10006956A1] The cooker hob zone has a hob plate, especially of glass ceramic, with at least one heating element underneath it to heat a pot on the plate and a temperature sensor (29) in the heating element connected to a unit for controlling the heating element's heating power. The sensor is in thermal contact with the plate's underside via a heat conducting element (85) and is screened against thermal radiation from the heater by insulating material (21). Independent claims are also included for the following: a heating element for a cooker zone and an element for the heating element.
