[origin: FR2805776A1] The axle consists of two arms pivoted to the vehicle body, equipped with a wheel spindle on one end of each and connected by a cross-member. The cross-member has an insert comprising an elastomer element (21), preferably e.g. of rubber, providing a reaction torque to oscillations of one arm in relation to the other, and a bearing (22) which co-operates with the elastomer member to maintain the angular positions of the arms relative to the cross-member while allowing rotation due to the oscillation of the arms and guiding cross-member deformation. The elastomer element and bearing are fixed, for example, to inner (60) and outer (61) tubes of the cross-member.
