Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0162642A1] The invention relates to a stacking unit (1) for articles in sheet form. Said stacking unit comprises a feeder unit (3) that deposits the sheet-shaped articles (2) in a storage tray (4) that has a varying holding capacity. Said storage tray (4) has a stop surface (5) on which the sheet-shaped articles (2) deposited in the storage tray (4) rest with an edge (6), and a storage bottom (7) on which the sheet-shaped articles (2) are stacked one on top of the other parallel to the storage bottom (7) in the storage tray (4). The storage bottom (7) is movably mounted so that the holding capacity of the storage (4) can be adjusted. The storage tray (4) is disposed with the stop surface (5) at an angle to the horizontal in such a manner that the sheet-shaped articles (2) stacked in the storage tray (4) rest on the stop surface (5) with their edges (6) and that the occurring frictional force between the edges (6) of the sheet-shaped articles (2) and the stop surface (5) substantially compensates for the inclined plane force exerted on the stack (10) formed by the sheet-shaped articles (2). When a sheet-shaped article (2) is deposited, the feeder unit (3) exerts a force on the stack (10) as of a predetermined stack height (c), whereby the storage bottom (7) is displaced so as to enlarge the holding capacity of the storage tray (4).
