[origin: WO0161714A1] The invention relates to an electromagnet for actuating a directional valve (11) with which the valve spool (35) can be displaced into at least three switching positions by a double solenoid (10). The armature (23) coupled to the valve spool (35) is arranged inside a pressure tube (13). In order to prevent switching impacts and, at the same time, to obtain a short switching time, axial borings (45, 46) and radial borings (48, 49) are placed in the armature (23), and an annular groove (42) is provided inside the pressure tube (13), which enable two pressure spaces (43, 44) filled with pressure medium to be connected according to the position of the armature.
