[origin: EP1260149A2] The handle (1) to be attached to the lower end of the shaft of an umbrella is cylindrically shaped and hollow (3). A groove (5) positioned axially along the outer surface (6) of the handle can be used for the insertion of a rectangular sheet (4) of a rigid material provided with a text, a picture, or combination of both. The groove (5) reaches down to the lower edge of the handle (1), facilitating the sheet (4) to be slid in and out conveniently as required. The insert (4) can be made of the same material as the handle (1) or in a contrasting color or texture. It can be level with its surroundings (6) or slightly raised.
