Abstract (en)
Melting furnace comprises a melting chamber (2) for receiving the melt which is divided by a separating wall (4) into chambers (6, 7) connected together by an opening (5). The chambers have a charge opening on the outlet side for the addition of material and a removal opening on the outlet side for the removal of the melt. The charge and removal openings are formed by shafts (8, 9) which protrude below the level of the filling level of the melt (S). A closable purification opening for the melt impurities is provided in the cover (3) above the lower mouth opening of the charge shaft. Preferred Features: The cover runs at least up to the level above the outlet of the charge shaft.

Ein Schmelzofen (1), insbesondere zum Aufbereiten von Magnesiumschmelze, weist einen bis zu einer vorbestimmten Füllstandshöhe (H) Schmelze (S) aufnehmenden Schmelzenraum (2) auf, der nach oben hin durch eine geneigte Decke (3) abgeschlossen und gegebenenfalls durch wenigstens eine Trennwand (4) in über wenigstens eine Durchströmöffnung (5) miteinander verbundene Kammern (6, 7) unterteilt ist und dem eingangsseitig eine Beschickungsöffnung (8) für eine Materialzugabe und ausgangsseitig eine Entnahmeöffnung (9) für eine Schmelzenentnahme zugehören. Um vorteilhafte Konstruktionsbedingungen zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Beschickungs- und Entnahmeöffnungen durch Schächte (8, 9) gebildet sind, die unter das Niveau der Füllstandshöhe der Schmelze (S) ragen und daß in der Decke (3) oberhalb der unteren Mündungsöffnung des Beschickungsschachtes (8) eine verschließbare Reinigungsöffnung für sich aufgrund der Deckenneigung ansammelnde Verunreinigungen der Schmelze (S) vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
