[origin: WO0166204A1] The invention relates to a ski binding, in particular, a touring, telemark or cross-country binding, comprising a front fixing, for the front end of the sole; a rear fixing, to engage with the front part of the boot sole, or with the heel of a skiboot and a tensioning device which connects both front and rear fixings. Said tensioning device can lock the front and rear fixings to the skiboot and, in particular, in the locked state, allows the heel of the skiboot to be lifted relative to the ski. At least one release mechanism is provided, for releasing the lock of the tensioning device between ski binding and the skiboot, due to the effect of a torque value above a predetermined limiting value, about a vertical axis on the boot or ski, or by manual activation of an essentially positive-fit locking element.
