Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1262128A1] The support (1) comprises a shaped body made from durable elastic material with a base section (9), a head end (12) and an opposite-lying foot end (10). It also has numerous neighbouring ribs (11) that protrude upwards across the longitudinal middle line of the support and inclined behind the head end. The angle (alpha) of all the ribs may be the same size and the ribs may run on each side of the middle line running parallel to one another. The support may be an orthopaedic or therapeutic mat with a back region (5), in which the ribs are pipe-like, and a seat region (6) in which further ribs (8) are arranged next to one another that protrude from the base section and are inclined to foot end. The ribs of the seat region may lie perpendicular to the pipe-shaped ribs of the back region.
