Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1262440A1] Vibration dampers (5) may be fitted at various points (2,3,4,6) on the escalator (1) where mechanical vibrations are likely to occur. Each damper has a lower plate (7) which may be connected to a vibrating body. A top plate (8) is connected to the lower plate by springs (9,10). Damping is performed by mechanical friction between sets of lamellae (11). Lamellae extending up from the bottom plate fit between lamellae extending down from the top plate.
