[origin: WO0170300A1] The invention relates to a rotary pump for delivering blood and other fluids that are susceptible to shearing. Said rotary pump comprises a rotor that is hydraulically and, optionally, magnetically mounted in a casing, whereby the rotor (1) has guiding surfaces (2, 4, 35, 33, 37, 41) for producing centrifugal flow components (3) and flow components (5) that are directed against the casing (30) in order to allow the centrifugal flow components (3) to act prior to the generation of the externally effective delivery rate and to allow the flow components (5) that are directed against the casing to act prior to the contactless mounting and stabilization of the rotor in the housing.
