Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0144569A1] The invention relates to an arrangement for forming a multilayered paper or paperboard web (D) from stock suspensions with papermaking fibres and fines, said arrangement including at least a first (101; 201; 301; 401; 501) and a second (102; 202; 302; 402; 502) forming unit, at least one of the forming units being of twin wire type and having a forming roll for forming a fibrous web (A or B) having a higher content of fines at one side (x or z) than at the other (y or w), and a couch device (117; 217; 316; 317; 416, 417) for couching together said fibrous web (A or B) having a higher content of fines at one side with an other fibrous web (B or A) to form the multilayered web (D), wherein both of the two forming units are of twin wire type and include a forming roll (109; 209; 309; 409; 509 and 111; 211; 311; 411; 511) for forming a fibrous web (A and B) having a higher content of fines at one side (x and z) than at the other (y and w), and that the two forming units (101; 201; 301; 401; 501 and 102, 202; 302; 402; 502) are so arranged relative to each other as to place the web sides (x and z) having the highest content of fines in contact with each other for couching together to form the multilayered web (D). The invention further relates to a method of forming a multilayered paper or paperboard web using said arrangement.
