Peripherally overlapping segments (3) are positioned on a support ring (2) which has a peripheral surface (4) at least partly convexly curved on a radial plane. The grinding segments have a curvature matching that of the peripheral surface and are clamped (5) with an attachment to the support. The overlap is such that the distance of the front end (8) of the segments from the pivot axis is less than the distance of the back end (9) from the pivot axis.

Eine Schleifscheibe zum Schleifen von gekrümmten Oberflächenabschnitten (O) besteht im Wesentlichen aus einem Tragkörper (2, 12) und auf dem Tragkörper aufgebrachtem Schleifmittel (3, 13, 23). Der Tragkörper (2, 12) weist eine Umfangsfläche (4) auf, deren Schnitt mit einer Radialebene (R) eine Krümmung aufweist. Das Schleifmittel (3, 13, 23) ist wenigstens im Bereich der Umfangsfläche (4) auf dem Tragkörper (2, 12) angeordnet. Das Schleifmittel weist dadurch im Schnitt mit der Radialebene (R) ebenfalls eine Krümmung auf, die im Wesentlichen der Krümmung der Umfangsfläche (4) entspricht. <IMAGE>
