[origin: WO0172178A1] The invention relates to a device for adjusting a first component of a chair, especially of an office chair, relative to a second component of a chair that is provided with a latching element that allows one of the two components to be disposed in different positions relative to the other component, said latching element having a guide track disposed on the first component. The other component is provided with a latching element that can be disposed in latched positions in the guide track which define the positions of the one component relative to the other component. In order to ensure that the elements are safely latched, the guide track (40) is substantially configured as a groove at least in the zone of the latched positions and the latching element (45) is guided in the groove-shaped guide track (40).
