[origin: WO02060731A1] Disclosed is a holding device for the pedals of a motor vehicle, comprising at least one pedal block (1,2) having pedals (4,6) which are pivotally fixed thereto and a base plate (3), said base plate (3) and pedal block (1,2) being formed in a single piece from plastic. The pedal block (1,2) for holding a pedal (4,6) respectively comprises a receiving element for the swivel pin of each respective pedal (4,6) consisting of two opposite-lying side cheeks (8, 9, 10, 11) and which is made of sheet metal and injected into the plastic pedal block. The receiving element which is made of sheet metal forms a deformation device for the release of the swivel pin (5,7) if said vehicle is involved in an accident.
