Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0174668A1] A method of bundling up bottles comprises the steps of: engaging at least two containers (1) by an interconnecting element (2) having a heat-deformable portion (2a), wherein said containers (1) define a unitary assembly (3) in cooperation with the interconnecting element (2); engaging at least two unitary assemblies (3) by means of a covering (4) of heat-sensitive material, wherein said unitary assemblies (3) define a package (5) in cooperation with the covering (4); and making said covering (4) adhere to the unitary assemblies (3) by exposure of the covering (4) to a heat flow. This method is characterized in that it further comprises the step of shielding the heat-deformable portion (2a) against the heat flow, which step is embodied by creation of a liquid layer on the heat-deformable portion (2a) and/or by use of a protection element (12) contained in the final station (10) which is operatively active on the heat-deformable portion (2a) to at least partly intercept the heat flow striking on said heat-deformable portion (2a).
