[origin: WO0173141A1] The invention concerns a method for thermal treatment of steel wire, which consists in raising the temperature of at least one steel wire to be treated up to a temperature for austenitizing the steel, and maintaining the wire at said temperature for a temperature equalizing period within the metal mass of said at least one wire. The invention is characterised in that it comprises forming a fluidised bed, heating the fluidised bed, and moving through said heated fluidised bed at least one metal wire to be treated so as to ensure at least said temperature rise, said heating being at least partly obtained by at least heating the fluidised bed which is produced substantially tangential to an upper average area thereof.
