[origin: DE10008133A1] The invention relates to a height-measuring and tracing device for the three-dimensional measuring and/or tracing of workpieces. Said device consists of a base section and at least one mobile arm which bears a measuring or tracing tool and which is directly or indirectly connected to the base section, whereby each arm is provided with at least one pivoting joint. According to the invention, the position of the measuring and or tracing tool is routed directly or indirectly, via measuring elements of each pivoting joint, to a computer that has an appropriate computer programme for determining and/or recording and/or saving the measured values. At least the pivoting joint which lies adjacent to the measuring and/or tracing tool can be impinged upon by at least one fixing device.
