Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0171438A3] The invention relates to an electromotive drive that comprises at least one driving motor and that is controlled by a operating element via a control element, said operating element having a plurality of actuation elements that can be optionally blocked. The aim of the invention is to improve the design of such a drive, allowing to block for the user or patient the functions triggered by the actuation elements of the operating element, and to allow for the blockable functions to be easily changed. The inventive device should further have a self-check or self-diagnosis mode in order to avoid malfunctions. To this end, the operating element (10) is provided with a selection device that allows the user to select only predetermined functions. Said selection device is configured in such a manner that the operating element, preferably a manual switch, triggering several functions, can be freely programmed. The inventive drive is sufficiently functional in order to prevent malfunctions by way of a self-check, self-monitoring or self-diagnosing mode. The electromotive drive is especially suitable for the adjustment devices of furniture in the field of hospital or nursing care.
