[origin: EP1270221A1] The dryer unit has spaced apart first(15) and second(16) pipes installed over the format width of the paper material at right angles to the transporting direction. The pipes are connected to associated side walls(19) by an upper plate(12) and a lower plate(13) with airblast openings(14) to form a flow passage. The pipes have a number of oppositely disposed outlet holes and the drying air is fed into the flow passage. The pipes are connected to a drying air supply.
