Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1270475A2] The method for detecting the presence of a band (1) of paper, cardboard or textile in a manufacturing or converting machine which is fed through by an endless belt (2) comprises detecting fracture or removal of the band by changes in the temperature of: (a) the side of the band which is not in contact with the belt in the area where it is supported by it; (b) the side of the belt which faces the band at the point where it leaves it; or (c) the inner side of the belt. An Independent claim is included for a machine in which the method is used.
