[origin: DE10018425A1] The invention relates to a cleaning-cloth roller for cleaning devices used in the cleaning of running printing material lines or cylindrical rotating bodies in a printing machine, or another machine in a printing press. A drive lip (10), for driving the cloth in the direction of rotation, may be extended radially against a spring force, out through a longitudinal slit in a cylinder (4) on which the cloth may be wound. Said lip is extended by means of an inner body (14), which may be inserted inside the cylinder (4). The drive lip (10) gives the cloth roll an inner diameter which is greater then the external diameter (12) of the cylinder (4). The cloth roll may thus be easily removed from the cylinder (4), when the drive lip (10) is withdrawn into the cylinder (4).
[origin: DE10018425A1] A reel core (2) onto which the soiled end of a cleaning cloth for a printing process is wound has a slot to locate a sprung edge (24) whose free end (10) protrudes out of the core. The grip edge tensions the wound cloth and can be retracted for a simple release of the wound cloth. The grip has a serrated edge for improved grip and is secured to the reel core by rivets (18).
