Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1273754A1] Insulating glass unit having an integrated motor-driven sun protection or shading blind and a blind mechanism arranged in the hermetically sealed space between the panes comprises toothed belts (8a, 8b) or similar tension organs arranged in the region of the two side edges of the space between the panes and guided at the top and the bottom via toothed disks (9), and a connecting rod (5) connected at both ends to the two toothed belts and connected to the free end of the blind (3). At least one of the toothed belts (8a) is driven by a miniature electric motor (13) arranged in the upper or lower edge region of the space between the panes. The two belts are synchronized via a rigid shaft connection (10). The blind is designed as shutters and its other end is connected to a support element (4) fixed in the upper or lower edge region of the space between the panes. Preferred Features: The blind is guided by a number of tension wires (6) running between the support element and a second support element (7) arranged in the opposite edge region.
