[origin: WO0181219A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for forming piles of sheets consisting of one or several sheets (B). According to said method, a predetermined number of sheets is first fed to a first position (106) in a collation station (100) in order to form a first pile of sheets. As soon as the first pile of sheets has been formed, it is displaced from the first position (106) into a second position (142) in the collation station (100) and a predetermined number of sheets for forming a second pile of sheets is then displaced into the first position (106) in the collation station (100).
