Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0179777A1] Weapons (1) are secured against unauthorised use by configuring the triggering device in such a way that said triggering device is only released when a transponder (18) which is to be carried by the user of the weapon and which is interrogated when the trigger (3) is pulled from an electronic switching circuit (11) of the weapon, sends back a valid licence code. The invention also relates to electronically ignited ammunition and to a suitable weapon configuration for the same. The weapon contains a real time clock (14), so that the time and date of each activation of the weapon can be stored. The ammunition contains a code identifying the type of ammunition, which can be read out through a contact arrangement of the weapon.
