The circuit arrangement has a half bridge arrangement whose output signal is fed to a load circuit (LK) for connection to a fluorescent lamp (LA) with helical electrodes, a preheating device for the electrodes and a preheating power determination device. The power flowing in the load circuit during preheating is determined by the power determination device. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Schaltungsanordnung zum Betreiben einer Leuchtstofflampe (LA) umfassend eine Halbbrückenanordnung (12), deren Ausgangssignal einem Lastkreis (LK;16) zuführbar ist, wobei an den Lastkreis (LK;16) eine Leuchtstofflampe (LA) mit Wendelelektroden (W1,W2) anschließbar ist, eine Vorheizvorrichtung (L21,L22,CR) zum Vorheizen der Wendelelektroden (W1,W2) der Leuchtstofflampe (LA) und eine Leistungsbestimmungsvorrichtung (20) zum Bestimmen eines Vorheizleistungswerts, der ein Maß für die Leistung darstellt, die während des Vorheizens in den Wendelelektroden (W1,W2) umgesetzt wird, wobei mit der Leistungsbestimmungsvorrichtung (20) die während des Vorheizens in den Lastkreis (LK;16) fließenden Leistung bestimmbar ist. <IMAGE>
