An area adjacent to an outlet for a fuel injection device is intermittently offset in a high-frequency oscillation (84) along with a valve element that is displaced into a high-frequency oscillation during an opening phase range (98). A piezo actuator activates the valve element. High-frequency interference from a control voltage or control current in the piezo actuator generates the high-frequency oscillation. <??>Independent claims are also included for a computer program suitable for carrying out the method of the present invention and for a device for controlling one or more functions of an internal combustion engine.

Bei einer Brennkraftmaschine mit Direkteinspritzung wird der Kraftstoff mindestens einer Kraftstoff-Einspritzeinrichtung gefördert. Um im Betrieb der Brennkraftmaschine Verbrennungsaussetzer zu vermeiden, wird vorgeschlagen, dass mindestens ein zu mindestens einer Austrittsöffnung der Kraftstoff-Einspritzeinrichtung benachbarter Bereich mindestens zeitweise in eine hochfrequente Schwingung (84) versetzt wird. <IMAGE>
