[origin: EP1279441A1] A machine for applying an adhesive (2) to the threaded shanks of small screws (3) has an adjustable guide rail (5) along which screws travel past a rotary tempered steel disc (26) applicator (6). The applicator applies adhesive to the screws, rotates them, and pushes them along the rail. The adhesive is then dried and the screws collected. A machine, designed to apply an adhesive (2) to the threaded shanks of small screws (3), has an applicator (6) in the form of a rotary tempered steel disc (26) that picks up the adhesive from a bath (27). The screws are picked up from a container (12) and pass along a guide rail (5) in the form of two parallel strips (18) set with an adjustable gap and at a variable angle of inclination to facilitate the screws' movement. As they pass the disc a layer of adhesive is applied to the shank of each screw, which is rotated by the disc and pushed along the rail. Once the adhesive has been dried by a blower (21) which directs air (23) towards the outlet end of the conveyor, the screws drop into a collector (24).
