Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1279770A2] The supporting system consists of a base slab (15) laid on a bed (17) of stabilised sand, sleepers (13) for the rails (11), and anti-vibration soles (12) between the rails and sleepers. There are road surface slabs or beams (21) extending along the outsides of the rails, and slabs (22) between them, with the gaps filled by spacers (25) with static and dynamic rigidity selected to be less than the sole plate. The spacers can be made with portions that pass beneath the rails, and the system can incorporate an anti-vibration layer between the base slab and sand bed.
