[origin: EP1279793A1] The drill head (2), for drilling into the ground, has a threaded core which tapers to a leading point in a continuous screw. The outer circumference has a stepped contour, seen in cross section, with horizontal (12) and vertical (14) step surfaces. The screw forms a continuous threaded projection (16) at the outer circumference, with its under side (18) flush with a horizontal step surface in cross section. The upper side (20) of the threaded projection is at an acute angle to its under side. The threaded projection has a radial extension of 1-5% of the maximum diameter of the threaded core at 10-20 mm.
