[origin: WO0179114A2] The invention concerns a salt comprising more than 95 wt. % of sodium chloride having a weight loss less than 1200 mg/kg under the effect of heating at 500 DEG C for 24 hours; the use of said salt as pharmaceutical salt; preparation thereof by drying a sodium chloride powder at a temperature higher than 300 and lower than 600 DEG C and a method for measuring water content in a salt sample by measuring loss weight incurred by the sample under the effect of heating at a temperature higher than 450 DEG C, for at least 24 hours.
