Abstract (en)
The procedure consists of pumping most of the oil out of the storage tank (1), leaving a minimal residual quantity of oil (5) mixed with sediment (6). This is liquefied by the addition of an auxiliary liquid (9) which separates the oil from the sediment and allows them to be extracted separately from the tank, allowing its inner surfaces to be cleaned. The auxiliary liquid used for the procedure is water, which is not soluble in oil and has a specific gravity greater than that of the oil, causing the oil to rise to the surface. Before it is added to the tank the water is heated in an external circuit (14, 16) with a heat exchanger (17).

Procédé et dispositif pour la vidange et le nettoyage d'un réservoir de stockage pour le pétrole, constitué par le pompage maximal du pétrole jusqu'à une quantité résiduelle minimale qui subsiste constituée par une fraction de pétrole (5) et par une fraction de sédiment (6), suivi par la liquéfaction de la quantité résiduelle par addition d'un liquide auxiliaire (9), suivie par l'élimination du mélange obtenu, et enfin suivie par le nettoyage ultérieur des structures internes du réservoir de stockage (1), caractérisé en ce que le liquide auxiliaire (9) que l'on utilise après le mélange de la quantité résiduelle entraîne une séparation de la fraction de pétrole (5) et en ce que la fraction de pétrole (5) et le mélange qui subsiste sont éliminés séparément du réservoir de stockage (1). <IMAGE>
