[origin: EP1281451A2] The device has a bending tool (5) with bending cheek (12), pressure pad (13), and bending abutment (14). The abutment is a hinge, connecting the pressure pad and a first clamp part (15) of a clamp unit. These are wedge-shaped, with edge tips facing the hinge. The surfaces of pressure pad and clamp part facing the inner wall (23) of the hollow bar (20) are flat. The hinge is mainly cylindrical, and the abutment is replaceable. A bending roller (17) opposite to the pressure pad is moved towards/away from it by a first drive, and at right angles to it by a second drive.
