Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1281459A2] Use of a thixo pressure die casting process in the production of parts having a graded alloying composition is new. At least two particulate metallic materials of different composition are converted into the thixotropic state in a screw extruder (E) by heating to a temperature between the solidus and liquidus temperature and shearing; and ejecting from a storage zone (11) via a nozzle (9). An Independent claim is also included for a device for producing the parts. Preferred Features: The metallic materials are made from at least two alloys or at least one alloy and a pure metal or at least two pure metals.
