Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1281509A2] A process for producing a carrier bag with a loop handle, comprises taking a semi-tubular thermoplastic material (3) and applying a weldable plastic to an edge strip (5) with a reinforcing tab (12). An edge strip is folded back so the reinforcing tabs are on top of each other. A process for producing a carrier bag with a loop handle, comprises taking a semi-tubular thermoplastic material (3) and applying a weldable plastic to an edge strip (5) with a reinforcing tab (12). An edge strip is folded back so the reinforcing tabs are on top of each other. A double layered grip strip (14) with a non-weldable layer between edges that face each other, is arranged into a U-shape and the ends are located between the reinforcing tabs and then welded. The carrier bags (17) are then separated from the tubular material by cutting. The weld zones remain free of adhesive when the reinforcing tabs are applied.
