[origin: DE10132652A1] Press assembly, has a single shoe press with an extended press nip and continuous blankets flanking the web with a drive for at least one blanket. The press assembly (10), for a paper or cardboard web (12), has a single shoe press (14) where the web is carried through with two continuous blankets. A straight and extended press nip (20) is formed between the shoe presses (34,36) of the two units (16,18) of the shoe press, in the direction (L) of web travel, with flanking continuous blankets (22,24,26) and a drive for at least one blanket. The press nip has a length of about 500 mm, on an angled line (30) against the vertical (32). The water extraction is symmetrical in the Z-direction.
