[origin: EP1282146A1] The electrical arc extinction mechanism (19) for an electrical arc (17) in a zone of the circuit breaker chamber (20). There are two facing conductors (22,23) one carrying the fixed contact (7) guiding the arc in the formation zone. The fixed contact conductor has two saddling conductor pieces (30) forming mechanical contact. The first piece forms the conductor front piece (24) and the second piece forms the rear portion (25).
