[origin: WO0185456A1] The invention relates to a method for applying a lacquer layer on the top side of a printed medium (printed sheet), which is characterized by the following steps: a) producing a lacquer film, especially a UV lacquer film; b) drying or curing said lacquer film using heat and/or UV radiation; d) transferring the dried or cured lacquer film onto the (newly printed or still wet) top side of the printed medium while at the same time permanently bonding it to said top side.
