Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0185557A1] A base section for a collapsible container for transporting a liquid comprises a rectangular base section (1), two opposite end sections (2; 3) and two opposite side sections (4; 5) pivotally connected to each their side of the four sides of the base section, a top section (6) pivotally connected to a side section (4; 5) or an end section (2; 3), and a liner for storing a liquid. The base section (1) comprises a base frame (8) with two opposite end bars (9; 10), two opposite side bars (11; 12), a number of cross bars (13) connecting the side bars (11; 12), and a base (14) resting on the cross bars. Along two opposite sides on the base (14), vertical flanges (16) are made which, in the free state of the base, have a larger mutual spacing (a) at the top edges (17) than the width (b) of the base. The opposite side faces of the side bars (11; 12) have a lower section (19) which, at a given location along the side bars (11; 12), is extending upwards from the cross bars (13) to a height (h') that mainly corresponds to the height (h) of the base flanges (16) at the same location in the longitudinal direction, and an upper section (20) extending upwards in tandem of the lower section (19). The mutual spacing between the opposite side faces of the side bars (11; 12) is larger than the width (b) of the base at both the lower and the upper sections (19; 20) whereas the mutual distance (c) between the two lower sections is smaller than the mutual spacing (a) between the upper edges of the flanges in the free state of the base. Thereby, the base (14) will be less expensive and easier to fasten in the base section that hitherto known.
