Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1283184A2] The method for preparing a feed roll of paper for flying roll change comprises passing the excess leading edge (51) under a cross-bar (13). An applicator (30) is then moved across the roll to apply double sided adhesive tape to the roll. A cutter blade (41) is then turned into a cutting position and the applicator is again moved across the roll to trim off the excess paper. An Independent claim is included for a machine for carrying out the method.
