[origin: EP1283564A1] A coupling element for mounting on a screened electrical conductor has a metallic adapter (A) on which the screening is fixed and into which the insulated electric conductors of the line extend. The adapter (A) has a free cavity (H) for receiving storage lengths of the conductor (6) and on the adapter, on the end facing away from the line (1), is a freely rotatable metal sleeve (7) into which a pluggable body (8) can be screwed together with a threaded gland (9) to enclose the contact carrier (12). An INDENDENT CLAIM is given for a method of mounting a coupling element on a screened electric line.
