Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1283659A2] The IR radiator (1) has an elongate quartz glass Zwillings envelope sleeve (1') filled with argon at a pressure of between 500 and 900 mbar, containing at least one carbon band (2) acting as an IR radiation element, positioned at a relative spacing from the inside wall of the envelope sleeve, with terminal lead contact regions (6) at its opposite ends. At least one of the metallic terminal leads is provided by a coil spring (7).
