[origin: EP1284125A2] Cushion (1) for positioning long-term patients and for stabilizing the position of the extremities of injured patients comprises a gel-filled cushion having three closed, at least approximately round chambers (11-13) whose middle points (16) are arranged on an isosceles or equilateral triangle. The chambers have a diameter of 7-17 cm. Preferred Features: Two chambers have the same diameter and the third chamber has a smaller diameter, or all three chambers have approximately the same diameter. The cushion has a cover corresponding to the shape of the chambers. The cover has fixing devices for attaching to an object or a patient.
