Abstract (en)
Process for applying a coating to a strip-like material (2) comprises: applying the coating material in its molten state using a rotating roller (6); solidifying by cooling; and joining to a substrate. A film of material is formed on a section of the casing (13) of the roller and the substrate is guided relative to the roller so that the coating material continuously flows from the roller onto the surface of the substrate. The coating material is conveyed from an inner hollow chamber of the roller through passages on the casing of the roller. An Independent claim is also included for a device for applying a coating to a strip-like material. Preferred Features: The strip-like material is a metallic strip and the coating material is a metal. The melting point of the coating is less than the melting point of the strip-like material.

Offenbart ist ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung 1 zum Aufbringen einer Beschichtung auf ein Substrat 2, wobei das Material der Beschichtung im schmelzflüssigen Zustand aufgebracht wird, durch Abkühlen erstarrt und sich mit dem Substrat verbindet Die Vorrichtung 1 besitzt eine rotierende Walze 6. Zumindest auf einem Abschnitt des Mantels der Walze 6 wird ein Film des Materials der Beschichtung erzeugt und das Substrat 2 wird in einem solchen Abstand relativ zu der Walze 6 geführt wird, dass in einem Kontaktbereich ein kontinuierlicher Fluss des Materials der Beschichtung von der Walze 6 auf die Oberfläche des Substrats 2 erfolgt. Die Erfindung minimiert die Baugröße der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung. <IMAGE>
