Abstract (en)
A device for determining the viscosity of a fluid (1) uses an electrical rotating drive (2) with a stator (3) with stator windings (4). The rotation body (5) that causes internal friction within the fluid forms the rotor of the electrical drive and is magnetically mounted without any physical bearings. The rotor is turned within the fluid and the power drawn by the motor is related to fluid viscosity. An Independent claim is made for a method for determining the viscosity of a liquid with a rotational body that generates friction within the liquid having contactless magnetic bearings.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Viskosität (η) eines Fluids (1). Die Vorrichtung umfasst einen elektrischen Drehantrieb (2) mit einem Stator (3), der eine Statorwicklung (4) aufweist und einem in dem Fluid (1) rotierbaren Rotationskörper (5). Der Rotationskörper (5) ist als Rotor (5) des Drehantriebs (2) ausgestaltet und ist bezüglich des Stators (3) berührungslos magnetisch gelagert. <IMAGE>
