Abstract (en)
The vehicle adapter (1) reads-out running- and fault data. It includes transmitter and receiver units, to transmit stored data or receive data from an external transmitter. The mobile unit (M) has a portable diagnosis unit (2) with I/O unit and a portable small computer (2b) with wireless transceiver for data exchange. A base station (3) receives data from the adapter and mobile unit and transceives data to a network input node (4). <??>Further equipment includes a stationary unit (S) with network nodes, a personal computer (5) with display (6), an I/O unit (7) and a memory unit (8) to store information relating to a vehicle parameter. <??>An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method of remote diagnosis for vehicles.

Zusammenfassend offenbart die Erfindung eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Ferndiagnose von Fahrzeugen, insbesondere von elektrischen, mechanischen und mechatronischen Komponenten von Fahrzeugen, mit dem auch bei komplizierteren und/ schwer auffindbaren Fahrzeugdefekten der Servicetechniker das Problem in kürzester Zeit, erforderlichenfalls mittels Echtzeit-Zugriff auf externe Datenbanken und/oder mittels Einschaltung einer Servicezentrale finden und beheben kann, so dass die Standzeiten im Fehlerfall minimiert werden. <IMAGE>
