Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1285645A2] Bath lift for elderly and disabled people comprises a scissor jack (3) for adjusting the height of a seat plate relative to a base frame, a back rest connected to the seat plate, a telescopic lifting device (52) connected on one side to the back rest and the seat plate and supported on the other side on the base frame, and a drive device driving the lifting device. The lifting device has a drive wheel (32) forming a gear (50) with a drive wheel connected to the drive device. The two gear wheels are separated from each other by a tensile force acting on the lifting device and resulting from clamping a body part of the user. Preferred Features: The gear is a toothed gear or bevel gear pair. The lifting device drive wheel is brought into contact with the drive device drive wheel by means of a pressure spring (39).
