[origin: EP1285756A1] Method for detection of register errors caused by a difference between the speed of movement of a conveyor belt (1) and a sheet to be printed (3) that is carried on the belt. Accordingly a register mark (5) is applied to the belt and a similar mark (6) on a sheet. The distance (dIST) between the two marks is measured and compared with a set value that would be expected if there were no difference between the two speeds. The invention also relates to a corresponding print machine with means for correction of detected register errors.
