Abstract (en)
An incendiary composition (14) comprises titanium sponge (in wt.%) (85-96) and an epoxide resin or a polyester resin (4-15), and has a density of 1.7-2.8 g/cm<3>. The incendiary composition is provided in a tail region (8) of a fin-stabilized kinetic energy projectile, and upon impact with a target (13), enters the target as a separate unit behind the penetrator (2) of the projectile.

Abstract (de)
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Brandsatz (14) für ein flügelstabilisiertes Wuchtgeschoß (1), der im heckseitigen Bereich des Geschosses (1) anordbar und beim Auftreffen auf ein Ziel (13) hinter dem Penetrator (2) des Wuchtgeschosses (1) als eigene Einheit in das Ziel (13) eindringt. Um zu erreichen, daß der Brandsatz (14) trotz eines relativ geringen Volumens und einer geringen Masse eine große zerstörende Wirkung innerhalb eines Zieles (13) verursacht und durch die beim Aufprall auf ein Ziel entstehenden Schockwellen sicher gezündet wird, schlägt die Erfindung vor, als Brandsatz (14) einen Titanschwamm zu verwenden, wobei als Bindemittel ein Epoxid- oder Polyesterharz verwendet wird. <IMAGE>
