Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0191942A1] A strand guide for a continuous casting installation has two opposite support tracks (1, 2) which support a strand at opposite ends and which are equipped with support elements (6). A plurality of support element (6) of each of the support tracks (1, 2) are located on support frames (7, 8),several of which are in turn supported on a base frame (9, 12, 14) which is supported on a base. Said base frame has two first longitudinal members (9) which are situated at the end of a first lower support track (1) and which extend in the longitudinal direction (10) of said first support track; and two other, second longitudinal members (12) which are located at the side of the opposite, second, upper support track (2) and which extend in the longitudinal direction (10) of said second support track (2). According to the invention, the second longitudinal members (12) are each rigidly connected by connecting means (14) to a first longitudinal member (9) located on the same side of the support tracks (1, 2), said connecting means being set apart, and are supported on the base (13) through the first longitudinal members (9). The support frames (7) of the first support track (1) are connected to the first longitudinal members (9) independently of the connecting means (14) of the longitudinal members (9, 12), and the support frames (8) of the second support track (2) are connected to the first or second longitudinal members (10, 12) by regulating means (16). This configuration ensures good accessibility of the strand guide.
